Why are YOU Failing? Why are you failing in Business?
Note: The following were notes taken during a webinar with Mark Gorman and Kim Schott.
First understand how you function. Your mind has at least two components. The conscious and subconscious. Mark used the analogy as follows:
The Conscious Mind (CM) functions like RAM in a computer. The CM does 4 things:
- Gathers information.
- Compares new information to previously store information.
- Draws conclusions (right or wrong) based on comparioson.
- Acts based on conclusion.
The Subconscious Mind (SM) functions like the hard drive in a computer. It's important to realize that the SM has no subjective evaluation ability.. It does not know the difference between fact or fiction. The SM does 4 things: - Controls all body functions.
- Stores all information, regardless of what it is.
- Works as aproblem solver.
- Acts to release the energy necessary to achieve any task assigned.
Traits of a Business Under Achiever:- Expects someone or something to bail them out
- Believes soneone else will do the marketing, bill paying, stretegizing, etc.
- Does not balance the checkbook.
- Does not know their debt load
- Worries about money all the time. It may become an obsessive focus thus preventing objective evaluation of normal business situations.
Two Winning Thoughts:
- You are rewarded for the Problems that you solve for others.
- Your reward is based on the size of the porblem(s) solved.
Traits of a HIGH Business Earner:- Needs to tell truth to themself about the 5 bad traits previous stated.
- Conscience decision to overcome and change any detremental trait.
- Must STRETCH mind and self.
YOU MUST SET RIGHT-SIZED GOALS NOT OPERATE ON DAYDREAMS
12 SIGNS A Business Owner is restricting Success:- Gives away more services than they bill to the client.
- Finds it hard to raise fees.
- Dislikes people with money (hates RICH people).
- Finds NOBILITY in being poor.
- always blaming someone else for failures.
- Rather barter than charge for services rendered.
- Offers low paying (profitable) products or services.
- Always working hard in their business but not at building their business.
- Fills their time with endless task that are not productive or prfitable.
- Has HUGE debt and are not always aware of the amount.
- Has a family history of under-achievers.
- They are very vague about earnings ("AClueistic" about their business reality).
